Jiujiang is a cultural city with a long-standing history of more than 2,200 years. Jiujiang boasts in abundant historical and cultural sites & landscapes. The Yangtze River, the longest one in China, flows through the northern part of the city. Lake Poyang, China’s second largest freshwater lake with more than two-third water area in Jiujiang, is a home of wet land for migrant birds every year. Situated in the southern part of Jiujiang City, Mount. Lushan is the UNESCO world landscape and cultural heritage. In the history of Jiujiang city there’s been numerous historical figures, such as the poets Tao Yuanming and Huang Tingjian, the historian and linguist Chen Yinque, Yuan Longping “Father of Hybrid Rice”, etc. Jiujiang has also been awarded one of “China’s Top Ten Charming Cities”, “Top China’s Popular Tourist Cities”, “China’s Most Developed Tourism Cities” and “The City of Well-being in China”.
Located in the foot of Mountain Lushan, Jiujiang University enjoys a quiet and peaceful environment. In this international Culture Immersion program, participants will take intensive language courses and workshops, and experience Chinese traditional culture, history & modern development. Courses:
Chinese Language Courses: Chinese Speaking, Listening and Reading, Chinese Calligraphy, Paper cut, Taiji, Folk custom and Porcelain.
Cultural Exposure: Visit to Mount. Lushan, China Porcelain city in Jingdezhen, and cultural tour to some major cities or historical sites.
